Biography:

Maestra Wixon began teaching languages in 2008. She has taught all ages, from elementary school through adult classes.  She lived and worked in El Salvador for two years before returning home to teach High School Spanish.  She believes strongly in the power of language learning to bridge cultural gaps and to open up new opportunities.

Welcome:

Welcome to Spanish Two.  It is a pleasure to be your instructor as you continue to grow in your knowledge of the Spanish language and the culture surrounding it.  As you move forward in your language studies, I would like you to keep one main thought in mind.

Progress Over Perfection.

​

It is our nature to want to do things "the right way".  We want to be perfect. We want to communicate. Let me encourage you that as a language learner you should make mistakes, and you most certainly will.  There is no shame in this.  It is in this way that we learn and grow.  I am not looking for your perfection, and nor should you.  Instead, look to see that you are getting better.  Look for improvement.  Look for growth.
